Valentine’s Watercolor Gifts Workshop

Your art will be original designs Linda helps you create. All materials are included for use in class for the projects. You will leave with a number of finished works of art. Including a paperweight, necklace charm, laminated bookmarks and more.

Discover Steampunk Mixed Media Workshop

2-Day Workshop
Day 1: Friday, March 15th 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm
Day 2: Saturday, March 16th 9:00 am – 3:00 pm

Location: 258 N Water Ave. Idaho Falls, ID
Fee: $110.00

Join us in making your own original steampunk mixed media painting. Create an 8″ x 8″ painting on a wooden cradled board. Linda teaches in a step-by-step manner and includes the materials for your project, and you may bring your own as well.

We will start the preparation on Friday evening (it needs to dry overnight). Saturday, we will be painting, attaching gears, metal, etc. and antiquing & distressing the art with various methods.
You will go home with a finished painting.

Linda will demonstrate with step-by-step instruction and guide with individualized attention.

All levels welcome.

Join award-winning artist Linda Aman for a fun day painting pears. In this workshop, you will be painting lovely, plump pears on Aquabord using watercolor techniques of lifting, glazing & misting. Linda teaches in a step-by-step approach with lots of individual attention.

Painting an Iris Watercolor Workshop

Rice Paper Watercolor Workshop

Color Study Triads I Watercolor Workshop

In this workshop you will learn to watercolor using a limited pallet of three colors and mixing luminous, glowing color without creating mud. (I have choices of 8-10 different triads).

You will work with color theory using your three color combinations to experience the power of painting with a few colors. Using a couple of triads you will work on a project to give a deeper understanding of color along with some composition.

The painting project will be taught with step-by-step demonstrations giving personal attention to each artist.

References and art materials will be available for use in class. You may bring your own art materials as well.

Color Study Triads II

This workshop is an extension of Color Study Triads I.

In this workshop you will continue to work  with a limited pallet of three colors, mixing luminous, glowing color. (I have choices of 8-10 different triads) We will work on a painting from start to finishing touches together step-by step.

The project subject will vary from workshop to workshop.

Pen and Ink with Watercolor Workshop

This is a great workshop to prepare for sketch and travel journaling. Learn to enhance your art with clean glazes of watercolor. Linda teaches in a comfortable step-by-step approach.

Large Petal Floral Watercolor Workshop

In this workshop you will be painting a 1/2 sheet floral using large area methods of painting and glazing for smooth luminous petals.

Learn how to avoid mud. You will need a 1/2 sheet of watercolor paper prepared or call me for assistance. (I have some boards available if you need one).

Bring all your watercolor supplies (you may use mine too!).

Can This Painting Be Saved??  Watercolor Workshop

What if your painting could be saved?  A full day of working on abandoned paintings, ones you are not pleased with or don’t think have possibility.  Now you can have help with corrections and changes!  Learn and discover how to fix your painting, and watch others transform theirs as well.  Bring one or a few, or start something new.

Textures, Techniques & Tricks Watercolor Workshop

Do you wonder how artists do a particular technique? Come learn to use a variety of techniques and tricks using watercolor.

You will practice numerous methods of watercolor including layered masking, rocks, grasses, trees etc. (20 plus examples). The sampler you make will be very useful to remind you of the techniques you will often apply in your art.

This has been a very popular workshop to get you inspired for your next painting. All art materials will be available for use in class. You may bring your own art materials as well.

Color Systems I

A must for all levels of painters to learn how to make a color system that really works for understanding and using your colors.  Bring all your watercolor paints (you can use mine too!) and sheets of 140lb Arches watercolor paper.

This workshop is part II of Color Systems I.  Continue learning to make a color system that really works for understanding and using your colors.  Bring all your watercolor paints (you can use mine too!) and sheets of 140lb Arches watercolor paper.

How is it possible to have a whole day on brushes????

Come find out! This is the workshop you have been asking and waiting for.

Learn the properties and uses of watercolor brushes. Experience how and when to use a particular brush (such as Natural vs synthetic brushes, shapes and sizes, specialty brushes) as well as techniques.

You will make a booklet of your sample strokes using different methods and kinds of brushes. This class will help you save money on buying brushes that work for you in the way you paint.

Bring your brushes to class to learn more about what you currently use. Art materials will be available for use in class. You may bring your own art materials as well.

 “Radiant Reds” is a workshop inspired to develop a variety of reds in your art. Learn to mix and use a variety of reds.

We will use premixed reds as well as ones we create. Some mixes will add warmer or cooler colors to enhance your understanding of the variety you can use to bring harmony in your work.

 “Going Green” is a workshop inspired to develop your eye and skills for using a variety of greens in your art. Learn to mix and use a variety of greens.

We will use premixed greens as well as greens we create. Some mixes will add warmer or cooler colors to enhance your understanding of the variety you can use to bring harmony in your work.

Absorbent Ground

Watercolor Workshop

Learn to paint watercolor on a new surface. Supplies including absorbent ground, image and board provided.

The absorbent ground allows the surface to dry to a paper-like surface.

There are different products on the market, I will show how they vary. This surface will work similar to Aquabord, it’s easy to lift and adjust painting areas. Also if applied on a board or other surfaces, you may not need to frame your art.

Art materials will be available for use in class. You may bring your own art materials as well.

Aquabord

Watercolor Workshop

Come learn why you want to paint on Aquabord as one of the surfaces for watercolor paintings. This surface allows for easy corrections and specials effects and no glass for framing needed.

Linda will share techniques, explain and demonstrate the adjustments and the differences from paper to this new surface.

Linda has won several awards for her paintings, many of which were done on the Aquabord surface. Her Aquabord paintings are in homes, galleries and businesses.

Fees includes either an 8×10 or 11×14 Aquabord and supplies available for use in class (photo image provided).

The fall leaves workshop is an annual workshop that changes every year.

We have artists who have taken it most every year. Some years we paint on traditional Arches 140 cold pressed paper, Yupo or Aquabord. We may use gold leaf or nature stamping, paint it & mounting it on a wooden box and/or adding mixed media.

Watch for the next years variation! This workshop is a must for the beginning artist & an inspiration for the more seasoned painter…lots of fun.

Over the years as a professional artist and instructor I have developed workshops and classes to fit the requests and needs of artists.

In my continuing quest for excellence in my work and yours I offer new classes, workshops and venues.

My job is to accelerate your education. I teach at a number of venues in Idaho and Oregon and often other states when an organization contracts a workshop for their artists.
