Selecting Surfaces for Water Media –
Mixed Media Workshop

If you’re tired of the same surfaces and materials for your water media paintings and are ready to explore alternatives, this workshop is perfect for you. Come explore painting on many surfaces and learn how differences in surfaces affect paint saturation, texture, color balances, and luminosity. Watching demonstrations and experimenting on many surfaces using water media, you’ll expand your painting possibilities. Which surfaces work well with absorbent grounds, molding pastes, and other textural media? By the conclusion of the workshop, you will have created representational or abstract images and will know how to finish your pieces with varnishes, acrylic sprays, and cold wax. As part of your registration fee, you’ll receive a kit containing all the surfaces, a $50 value. All skill levels welcome, but participants need their own painting supplies.
